Ancient Wisdom for the Modern Wellness Professional

May 14, 2020

On today’s podcast episode we’re taking an honest look at what COVID-19 and the subsequent “free yoga epidemic” has taught us about our industry. There’s a lot to unpack here, both positive and negative.

First, let me say that yoga teachers and healers have huge hearts. Their strong desire to help others is beautiful and it comes from a noble place.

Unfortunately, this compulsion to caretake others has also showcased a plethora of other issues in its wake. What kind? Let me count the ways!

Sadly, many teachers and studios do not value themselves or their level of knowledge. I have seen teachers tossing free classes around left and right, then creating a go fund me pages to ask for help covering their expenses. Why not just own your expertise and charge appropriately for your services from the start?

Yoga teachers who understand leadership have been able to weather this storm with steadiness and strength by providing consistency for their people. Those who don’t are on the express train to burnout and it’s not pretty.

If the constant pivot of the last 9 weeks has been a drain on your energy, please know it doesn’t have to be that way. You can change your patterns for the better, and I can help you do it.
